An Interview with Quarter Blind

Post by events »

Interview by Amy Mullin

How long have you guys been together?

Since 1999

How did you meet?

QuarterBlind was founded in the Easter of 1999 when Lee Holden-Rushworth, guitarist, and his brother Phil Holden-Rushworth, drummer, decided to form a metal band. After recruiting Rob Stalham to play bass the band began writing under the name 'QuarterBlind'?.
Whilst writing material with two guitar parts it became obvious that a second guitarist was needed. In the beginning of August 2000 Andy Stalham, nephew to Rob, joined the band adding another element to the QuarterBlind sound and giving greater depth to the music.
Following months of searching, QuarterBlind found a vocalist; Tommy Reinhartsen (a Norwegian national) had come to England to visit family in March 2001 and after meeting QuarterBlind decided to join the band and remain in the UK. After a long stint with QuarterBlind Tommy had to return to Norway and QuarterBlind were back on the hunt for a Vocalist.
After more months of searching, and a number of candidates, QuarterBlind and Max Ward found each other. Max blew the band away with his gut-wrenching growls and his killer screams and in January 2004 he joined the band. Soon after, Phil had to leave QuarterBlind due to increasing commitments at university and Si Spiers took to the drum stool in his place. Si had played in previous bands with Max and, having heard QuarterBlind, was keen to join. Si practiced with, and amazed, the band with his earth-shaking double kick and powerful style. Si joined the band in March 2004.
